This hard shiny Quartz stone was first found in Brazil, hence it is known as the “Amazon Stone”. Amazonite is a mottled translucent to opaque feldspar stone ranging in colour from green to blue-green. Its colour is irregularly distributed, giving it a marbled appearance. Also apparent are varied saturations mixed with grey-green shadow-like veins. It is inexpensive and is frequently used in Sterling Silver and beaded jewellery.
